Our initial checks typically range from $250K to $2M+, depending on the company, stage, and opportunity. We also have the ability to invest additional capital over time as our portfolio companies grow.
We primarily invest at the Seed and Series A stages, when companies have moved beyond the idea stage and are beginning to demonstrate meaningful traction. We look for a working product, engaged customers, emerging revenue, early signs of product-market fit, and a clear path toward scale. We generally do not focus on angel or pre-seed investing.
We invest primarily in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, fintech, healthcare technology, AI, and other scalable technology-enabled businesses. Across our funds, we have also invested selectively in consumer and other businesses with strong growth potential and differentiated models.
Our primary focus is Utah and the broader Mountain West, where we have deep relationships with founders, operators, investors, and other funds. We are also open to compelling opportunities outside the region that align with our investment strategy.
We look for companies with strong growth potential, scalable and repeatable business models, meaningful differentiation, and durable competitive advantages. That can include switching costs, deep integration into customer workflows, proprietary technology or IP, or network effects. Above all, we look for strong leadership teams with the vision and ability to execute.
Yes. We frequently lead Seed and Series A rounds, but we are also comfortable participating alongside another lead investor. When we lead, our role can include helping shape terms, anchoring the raise, building the syndicate, and staying actively involved after the round closes.
Yes. Our investment approach is designed to extend beyond the initial check. As companies grow, we may participate through additional primary investments, secondary transactions, convertible or structured financings, and later growth rounds. Our goal is to build long-term relationships and continue supporting our highest-conviction companies as they scale.
Yes. Secondaries are an active part of our investment strategy. We purchase shares from existing shareholders, including founders, employees, and early investors, and are particularly interested in secondary opportunities within our existing portfolio. We also consider secondary investments in new companies that align with our investment focus.
Yes. Our partners regularly serve in board, board observer, and advisory roles. We view active involvement as an important part of building long-term partnerships with founders and staying closely aligned as companies grow.
We work closely with founders on the challenges that emerge as companies scale, including strategy, go-to-market, executive hiring and team building, fundraising and investor introductions, and long-term positioning. Our network across Utah and the Mountain West also connects founders with experienced operators, investors, and other resources.
We're known for speed: We aim to give a clear yes/no within days of initial review, not months. If it fits our thesis and we see potential, we move fast to help you build momentum.
Come prepared to clearly explain the problem you're solving, why it matters, what differentiates your company, the traction you've achieved, and how the business can scale. We also want to understand your customers, revenue and growth trends, retention, competitive positioning, and the team you're building.
